Compliance with the code of conduct in the supply chain

To guarantee compliance with the code of conduct our supply factory has been audited by SEDEX and has passed the SMETA 4 pillars in ethical practices. SEDEX performs around labor rights, health and safety.

The 4 pillars of the SMETA audit consists in these four stages: labor standards, environmental management, health and safety, business integrity. We are committed to:

  • Develop an internal code of conduct and CSR plan.
  • Discuss the code of conduct with our factory or any factory we plan to source from.
  • Check past audits and ask to see the audit reports.
  • Work with a limited number of factories and try to develop strong long term working relationships. Visit the factories and conduct inspections with a health and safety checklist.
  • Discuss with the factory management on what is a reasonable lead time. Making sure we are giving them enough time. Avoiding last minute changes.
  • If issues are found in a factory we source from, we work with the factory to remediate and make improvements rather than ceasing production.
Child labour

Child labor is not used and there won’t be recruitment of child labor.

We will not engage in or will support the use of child labour, understanding as so any work by a child younger than 15 or older in case local minimum age law stipulates a higher age for work.

We will not expose children or young workers to situations in or outside of the workplace that are hazardous, unsafe or unhealthy.

Forced labour

We will not use, nor will we promote the use of forced labour, nor will we ask our staff to leave in our custody any "deposits", or identity documents, when entering into a working relationship with our company. Employment is freely chosen.

Working hours are defined by contract an do not exceed 48 hours per week. Overtime hours are recognized and properly compensated.

Bearing in mind the risks specific to our activity and installations, we will establish a safe and healthy working environment, and will take appropriate measures to prevent accidents and injuries caused during working activity or associated to the same, through the limitation, as far as is reasonably practical, of the causes of risks inherent to our working environment.

Workers receive regular health and safety training, and this training is always repeated for new or reassigned workers.

Workers are provided with access to clean toilet facilities and to potable water, and sanitary facilities for food storage and lunch times.

Freedom of Association and Right to Collective Bargain

We respect and ensure the right of all personnel to form and join trade unions of their choice and to bargain collectively.

In those situations in which the right to freedom of association and collective bargaining are restricted under law, facilitate parallel means of independent and free association and bargaining for all such personnel.

We will ensure that representatives of such representation have access to their members in the workplace.

Discrimination

We will not carry out, nor will we promote, any form of discrimination based on reasons of race, caste, national origin, religion, disability, gender, sexual orientation, trade union participation, political affiliation or age when hiring, paying, training, promoting, dismissing or giving retirement to our staff.

The company shall not allow behaviour, including gestures, language and physical contact, that is sexually coercive, threatening, abusive or exploitative.

In Spain, we work locally with KOIKI: a delivery service network with positive social and environmental impact. they create job opportunities for people in vulnerable situations. They deliver walking, biking or in electric vehicles.

Disciplinary practises

We ensure that wages paid for a standard working week shall always meet at least legal or industry minimum standards and shall be sufficient to meet basic needs of personnel and to provide some discretionary income.

We ensure that deductions from wages are not made for disciplinary purposes, and shall ensure that wage and benefits composition are detailed clearly and regularly for workers; the company shall also ensure that wages and benefits are rendered in full compliance with all applicable laws and that remuneration is rendered either in cash or check form, in a manner convenient to workers.

Control of suppliers

We establish and maintain appropriate procedures to evaluate and select suppliers based on their ability to meet the requirements of this standard.

We maintain appropriate records of suppliers commitments to social accountability, including, but not limited to, the written commitment of those organizations to:

• Conform to all requirements of this standard (including this clause).

• Participate in the company’s monitoring activities as requested.

• Promptly implement remedial and corrective action to address any non conformance identified against the requirements of this standard.

We maintain reasonable evidence that the requirements of this standard are being met by suppliers.

We take special steps to ensure that home workers are afforded a similar level of protection as would be afforded to directly employed personnel under the requirements of this standard.

During this difficult period regarding COVID-19 crisis, we decided to step up to work with with our suppliers, as we've been doing since our beginning. We put people first and we didn't cancel any order, in order to maintain our good, long-term relationship.
