World Water Day 2021
Water is our most precious resource, without it there will be no life. Climate change is making water more erratic and contributing to pollution.
“80% of wastewater flows back into the ecosystem without being treated or reused. A major part of the solution is to produce less pollution and improve the way we manage wastewater.”
Plastic pollution in the marine environment is also a threat to human health due to the large amount of toxic chemicals used in its manufacture.
In honor of World Water Day and being proud members of 1% for the Planet, we want to keep supporting our friends from IbizaPreservation and their ongoing projects.
As a matter of fact our mission is to support Plastic Free Ibiza, part of IbizaPreservation. 15% of each navy and ink backpack sold will go to their beach cleanups, plastic free workshops and campaigns. Read more here.
KNOW MORE ABOUT IT
#WorldWaterDay celebrates water and raises awareness of the 2.2 billion people living without access to safe water. It is about taking action to tackle the global water crisis. This 2021, the core focus is to value water, ensuring water and sanitation for all by 2030.
The value of water is about much more than its price – water has enormous and complex value for our households, food, culture, health, education, economics and the integrity of our natural environment.
Without a comprehensive understanding of water’s true, multidimensional value, we will be unable to safeguard this critical resource for the benefit of everyone.
A more circular and therefore more sustainable economy requires us to value wastewater for its potential, rather than discard or ignore it. More than just an alternative source of water, safe wastewater management could help protect our ecosystems and give us energy, nutrients and other recoverable materials.
